Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival

Fall is the best time of the year to visit Gatlinburg Tennessee. The leaves in the trees are changing colors all over town as well as in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. On September 19 the annual Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival starts and won’t end until October 31. Between those dates the locals from Gatlinburg decorate the city and celebrate the fall months. The shopkeepers start carrying merchandise that match up to the beautiful colors that takes over the trees so everything is reflecting the beauty of Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountains. The September days are warm and the nights are cool so be sure you take a light jacket for those nights.

Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival brings in all types of entertainment from Old Fashion Hayrides to events and exhibits. The Old Fashion Hayrides take you up and down the streets for a fall treat. The Arts and Crafts Community will be holding exhibits for their artisans to display and sell their unique gifts and souvenirs. Contests will be going on all month including one where you could win $10,000. The Great Gatlinburg Shark Race will give one lucky person $10,000 if their “shark” crosses the finish line first. Sounds like an easy way to win $10,000. Fundraisers will be going on to help raise money for some worthy charities. There will be a 10K race for the revived Gatlinburg Bicentennial. Popular restaurants will be serving favorites of the United Way of Sevier County fundraiser in the 10th Annual Taste of Autumn Benefit. Everywhere you turn something will be taking place, from hayrides to joyrides and buying souvenirs to watching them being made. It’s the perfect time of year to visit.

Fall is the best time to go out to Gatlinburg TN. The trees are changing, events are taking place and all that’s missing is you. All around downtown and on up into the mountain you can see the beauty of the seasons change from summer to fall and from fall to winter. It’s a beautiful sight to see.
