Christmas

If all else fails and you are not able to vacation in Gatlinburg Tennessee this Christmas season you at least need to make a quick drive through Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. I know everyone does not live less than an hour from Gatlinburg, but with gas prices dropping to 5 year lows it is much easier and cheaper to travel. With gas less than $1.50 a gallon in most cities you can travel to Gatlinburg on a tank Gas from about 2/3rds of the United States. Traveling to Gatlinburg on about 20 bucks is drastically cheaper than July where it would have cost close to 80 bucks. It hasn't been this cheap to travel to Gatlinburg in almost 6 years.

If you have never been to Gatlinburg TN during Christmas it is worth your time, effort and money. I say effort because of the fact that you might have to fight some crowds and traffic. The city, most shops and restaurants are all decorated with lights and holiday decorations. Upon driving into town you will see numerous lights and a large "Welcome To Gatlinburg" sign. What a great atmosphere this quaint town creates. The winter holiday season is absolutely the best time of the year to visit Gatlinburg Tennessee if even for only one day.
