Description

Welcome home to Karen’s Cozy Cottage, a charming and pet-friendly 1,200-square-foot cabin tucked among the trees in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. From cozy interiors and conveniences to make your stay easy to fun extras for entertainment and a peaceful setting in the Great Smoky Mountains, Karen’s Cozy Cottage has all you need to feel right at home while you’re away. This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin has space to sleep 4 adults, in addition to rollaway beds for 2 kids.

After a day hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, driving around Cades Cove, shopping in downtown Gatlinburg, and exploring all the many fun attractions, come back to Karen’s Cozy Cottage to unwind. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the leather recliners as you read a book by lamplight or watch TV on the flatscreen above the gas fireplace. Then head to the fully equipped kitchen to whip up snacks, drinks, and homemade dishes. Enjoy meals at the expandable dining table or window bench seating — another perfect place to watch the rain, read, or just hang out on days around the cabin.

For entertainment, Karen’s Cozy Cottage has a big screen TV and DVD player, high-speed internet, and a foosball table! It also has plenty of conveniences, including a washer and dryer and a gas grill for cookouts on those beautiful mountain days. Bedrooms also have their own TVs, and the hot tub on the deck is just the place to soak away stress at the end of the day.

Living Room
Find a peaceful place to hang out, read a good book, and chat by a crackling fire in the living room at Karen’s Cozy Cottage. Quaint, inviting, and full of charm, this cozy space features leather recliners to kick back, a built-in bench with a bay window framing the trees, a stacked stone (gas) fireplace to set the mountain mood, and a flatscreen TV with a DVD player for entertainment. Snuggle up with your family for movie night, sip wine by the fireplace on chilly evenings, and enjoy a memorable read or chat by the window.

Kitchen
Steps away from the living area is the fully equipped kitchen that boasts country chic touches throughout, cream cabinetry, dark countertops, major appliances, and plenty of natural light. It’s a spacious kitchen with everything you need, including pots, pans, plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, and mugs, to cook and serve meals at the cabin. Fix nutritious breakfasts before exploring the national park, set out lavish lunches for a break at the cabin, bring home takeout for dinner since this Gatlinburg cabin is so close to town, and easily grab treats at midnight. Simply bring the ingredients, snacks, and drinks, and you’re all set for food on your vacation!

Dining Area
At the edge of the kitchen is the dining table that can expand for more space. With the bay window bench and living room recliners just there, everyone can dine comfortably at Karen’s Cozy Cottage. Plus, the table is great for setting up a homeschool station, checking emails on your laptop, making plans to visit downtown Gatlinburg for the day, playing board or card games, and working on arts and crafts.

Rec Room
The fun rec room at this Gatlinburg cabin boasts a foosball table to play, a table with chairs, and a media space with a big screen TV, sofa, and Papasan chair (aka moon chair). It’s a neat space to retreat for a while and spend time with loved ones, conquering the foosball field, chillaxing in front of the big screen, or chatting with a friend while enjoying a few cold ones at the table. Plus, if the kids want their own space to hang out at the cottage, here it is!

Bedrooms
When bedtime rolls around, you can choose between 2 bedrooms that each feature a flatscreen TV and a queen-size bed. One of the bedrooms even has its own kitchenette — with a microwave, mini-fridge, storage, and coffeemaker — for added convenience and privacy if needed...or wanted because this is YOUR Smoky Mountain vacation. There are also 2 twin-size rollaway beds that are great for kids and 2 full bathrooms in the home.

Please note: Each level is a separate space that must be reached from the outside; the entry level and second floor have separate doors from the exterior to enter the home, with no staircase inside. There are zero steps up to enter the entry level and a staircase to enter the second floor.

Outdoor Spaces
Follow easier flat, paved roads from downtown Gatlinburg to the flat, gravel parking for 2-3 vehicles at Karen’s Cozy Cottage. Wooded scenery is enjoyable from the deck with a steamy hot tub, a gas grill, and a breakfast table. Soak muscles in the hot tub after traveling around the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community to find the best handmade pottery and unique souvenirs. Toss burgers or steaks onto the grill for a fun cabin cookout. And sip wine and enjoy treats at the table under the stars.

Other Amenities
Along with entertaining amenities and a convenient location super close to town, this Gatlinburg cabin offers guests high speed Wi-Fi at no extra charge. Hop online anytime to stay connected with family members and friends, check out local restaurants before visiting, keep up with emails, and post trip videos to social media. There’s also a washer and dryer in the home so you can do laundry whenever you need to, like after horseback riding or working up a sweat over the grill.

Local Fun
Close to downtown Gatlinburg — only half a mile away — Karen’s Cozy Cottage is perfect for those wishing to stick close to the excitement and convenience of nearby eateries, shops, and attractions. You can pop into town whenever you like to putt-putt, visit Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, walk across the Gatlinburg SkyBridge, face your fears in the Mysterious Mansion, ski at Ober, or ride a mountain coaster. Of course, you can also spend the day shopping in The Village and Mountain Mall and dining at the many restaurants. We highly recommend No Way Jose’s with riverside seating, any pancake house you spot, and Ole Red for cocktails and music.

What would your Gatlinburg vacation be without a visit to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park? There’s an entrance on the edge of town, and it’s free to enter anytime. Lace up your hiking boots to reach a waterfall, take a scenic drive through the gorgeous Cades Cove, picnic by a peaceful river, ride horses or go on a carriage ride, fly fish, and more! And don’t forget to bring your camera to snap memorable shots, a few bottles of water to stay hydrated, plus snacks to keep up your energy.

Anakeesta
Shop, dine, and play at this aerial adventure park that features the only single-rail mountain coaster in the country, a 360 observation tower, the Treetop Skywalk, an enchanting sensory garden, duel ziplining, yummy eateries, and fun stores to keep you entertained all day!

Sugarlands Distilling Company
Sip on Sugarlands Smoky Mountain shine, whiskey, and spirits, then return to Karen’s Cozy Cottage with a few jars and bottles to enjoy together. Before leaving, you can also take a cocktails tour or participate in a neat workshop where you’ll lend a helping hand to make distilled spirits.

Cherokee Grill
Enjoy a well-crafted steak dinner at this elegant lodge with stone, brick, granite, and walnut touches. Soft lighting paired with a gorgeous fireplace makes this place a top choice for date nights. Plus, it’s conveniently located in the heart of Gatlinburg, near plenty of attractions and shops.

Nice place to stay but weird you want to charge additional pet fees if there is hair or slobber. Pet charge should easily cover that. Also fireplace has an open pilot light with no log in front of it or fireplace screen. I didn’t feel that was safe with pets. More than 1 roll of TP for four days would have been nice as well. Location great and nice place.
Response from Cabins for You
Thank you for the 4‑star review and for sharing your feedback. Glad the location and cabin worked well for you. Our standard pet fee covers typical cleaning and wear; additional charges are only applied when a stay requires extra cleaning beyond normal. I’m sorry the open pilot felt unsafe with pets — we’ll have the team inspect the fireplace to ensure that it is set up appropriately and safe for future guest.. Thanks again for staying with us and for the helpful comments.

I can’t say enough about our stay in Gatlinburg, it was cozy and full of entertainment. We visit for the annual Christmas parade and rented this place for its close proximity to the route! The hot tub is worth the money just by itself. You won’t regret staying here. Seeing two bears right outside of Karen’s was a bonus!

Location Location Location ❤️ Easy walk to and from downtown, turn left onto the main road and you can get to McDonald's, Food City, gas station, package store, etc. Would rent this place again in a heartbeat!! Kitchen was fully stocked, you literally don't need anything. Hot tub was amazing, and they don't really say that there's a view in the description, but there is, just enough. It's absolutely beautiful. The only thing I would want renters aware of is there is only room for one vehicle and you have to turn around in that spot, you can definitely do it, just be careful. We had a full size van and it was tight but it did not change my mind about this cabin. Also it should be told in the description there are 2 bear dens on the property above you. Bears are VERY active at the cabin. They got on our vehicle and were by the hot tub and walking down the road all week, every day. They DO NOT bother you, so don't bother them! Keep your trash up and they will absolutely leave you alone. We walked back at night in the dark and was not paid attention to by any bears, just be aware. I absolutely loved our stay at this cabin and would turn around and go back tomorrow. Thank you!

Great home, great space! Very relaxing!

Loved everything about the location, home, and amenities. I think it was to zero fault of any one in particular. Just the cost of renting space out to the public. However there are roaches in the home (don't think it's an infestation but they are present) and there was a dead smashed lizard in the bottom level of the home upon our arrival.

It was close to town, but had a country feel. We even saw a mama bear and her two cubs walk down the road while we were sitting on the patio after midnight. I wish there was an inside staircase between the upstairs and the downstairs, but it wasn’t a big deal since we didn’t bring our kids.

It was okay

It was in a good location. We actually seen some black Bears near our cabin that was cool. When we got there the check in process was super easy. I wasn’t aware that the bedrooms were completely separated but it worked out in our situation. The cabin was clean other then the pull out beds they were a little nasty thankfully we didn’t need them. The hot tub was nice and very clean. I would rate the stay 3.5/5
Response from Cabins for You

While we wish we had the opportunity to address your concerns during your stay, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We have shared your feedback with the appropriate departments for a prompt review. We would love to help find the perfect cabin for you on your next adventure to the Smoky Mountains.

Great little cabin

We had a good experience here and would rent from again. The floors are not connected but we knew coming in from reading others reviews. They promptly came and filled the propane tanks when we realized they were empty. The was a small flood on the last day of our stay, I wouldn't store belongings on the bottom level. None of our things were ruined thankfully. I think the drain may have overflowed but I'm not sure. The hot tub was great and it was even hot when we arrived! Parking is tight and a bit scary but we made it work.
Response from Cabins for You
Thank you so much for your honest review and feedback, Jessica! It is our pleasure to be of service to you, and though we hate you experienced any troubles, we're glad we could rectify this promptly. We are delighted you had a good experience overall and enjoyed your getaway to the Smokies with us. We would love to serve you again in the future!

Absolutely Amazing

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was very centrally located so that we could walk all around Gatlinburg. The cabin was also roomy and well equipped with any needed supplies. We even had a late night visit from a very large bear on our last night….I do highly recommend a better locking mechanism on the trash container :) We plan to visit again!!
Response from Cabins for You
We love to hear your home away from home's location was perfect for you and your party, Susan, and the cabin's interior was spacious and well equipped. We're so glad you were able to witness the bears in their natural habitat, as this is one of the best memories while visiting the Smokies. We are grateful for your recommendation and your honest feedback, and we can't wait to host you again on your next adventure to the Smoky Mountains!

Karen’s Place

The pictures are true to form. The best surprise was having a new gas grill delivered. Ideal location close to the trolley (blue). Great for couples but not ideal for kids as upstairs and downstairs are not connected. Parking is tight but not an issue. We really had a great and relaxing time there. The hot tub is great after a day out!
Response from Cabins for You
We're pleased to hear that you had a relaxing stay at Karen's Cozy Kottage, enjoying the convenient location to the trolley as well as relaxing in the hot tub after a long day! We truly appreciate you sharing your experience with us, and we hope to host you again in the future for more relaxation in the Smokies!
