Trip cancellation and trip interruption

You will be reimbursed for non-refundable payments if cancelling for a covered reason. Covered cancellations include: sickness, injury or death (to you, a family member, or a traveling companion), extension of school year, armed services leave revocation, involuntary termination of employment, or other specific reasons listed in the Policy/Certificates of Insurance.

Trip delay

This portion of the insurance is worth up to $750 with a $200 daily limit. It provides provisions for items that are considered reasonable, including: meals, hotel accommodations, and transportation, if you are delayed for 6 hours or more – due to a covered travel hazard – while en route to, during, or returning from your trip.

Baggage delay

Coverage up to $1,000 per person ($200/day) applies to the emergency purchase of necessity-type items, including sports equipment. This portion of the coverage goes into effect if the delay is 12 hours or more. You may purchase clothing, toiletries, and other essentials with this portion of the insurance coverage.

Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical

You and your traveling companions are covered up to $25,000 each in the event any of you experience a medical emergency and an emergency room visit during your stay. You and your traveling companions are also covered up to $1,000 each during the trip for emergency dental treatment.

Travel Assistance Services

When you purchase Mountain Trip Preserver travel insurance policy, you are eligible for Emergency Assistance and Emergency Roadside Assistance Services when you start your trip. The Travel Assistance Service is available 24/7 and provides services such as towing, battery services, flat tire assistance, lockout assistance, emergency cash advance, and more.
