Description

According to famed American poet Robert Frost, nothing gold can stay. However, you can stay in something gold! The 5-bedroom, 5.5-bath Golden Oak Lodge is a sprawling mountain abode. Bring your large family, extended family, or small group of up to ten guests to stay in this gold standard of mountain cabins.

At first glance, it might appear to be a classic mountain getaway, but given the opportunity to explore, you will find that the details shine through. Three levels of tasteful decor are filled with everything you might need as well as anything you might want. Five private king-sized suites, 5 jetted tubs, 5 places for parking, 3 covered decks, 2 fully-equipped kitchens, 2 outdoor hot tubs, a pool table, and your very own private theater…this getaway is more than comfortable and fun! It is golden.

Being treated to golden amenities might tempt you to spend all of your vacation time in this resort-like environment. However, the spectacular views from the decks tell the story of treasure hidden beyond the four walls. While in Golden Oak Lodge, you are only a few short miles from downtown Gatlinburg. Take the opportunity to prospect in one of the South’s most popular tourist stops.

Make Golden Oak Lodge your home away from home on your next vacation, and you won’t regret it. While you can’t take its gold with you when you leave, you can certainly take the golden memories.

Living Room
Light pours into the main living space through extra windows provided by the vaulted ceiling, casting a golden glow over the room. Just a part of this large, open-floor design, the living area exists as a space for your entire group to congregate. A couch, loveseat, and armchair provide the seating as you gather around the gas fireplace to enjoy a movie on the flatscreen TV, a board game around the large square table, or the view from the nearby deck entrance.

Kitchen
With 2 fully equipped kitchens, (one on the entry level and one in the downstairs rec room), you will also enjoy gold-star eating. For a more formal occasion, prepare a hearty and delicious meal in the entry level kitchen. It is fully equipped with all the cookware and serving utensils you will need.

The dining room offers seating for 8 at the dining table and 4 more at the bar. For a more casual experience, you might choose to serve lunch in the downstairs rec room. Quickly warm up pizzas in the oven and enjoy them while watching the flatscreen or playing a game of pool. There is seating space for four at the bar as well as other seating spaces spread throughout the room.

Rec Room
The lowest level of Golden Oak Lodge is a multipurpose space designed with food, fun, and fellowship in mind. The flatscreen TV will provide the commentary for your game of pool. Enjoy a meal at the bar or out on the deck before heading to the nearby theater room for a movie. Be sure to remember your movie snacks that are tucked away in the kitchen!

Theater Room
At Golden Oak Lodge, you’ll have a golden ticket to an incredible theater experience without ever leaving the cabin. Six comfy loveseats arranged in stadium style provide comfortable seating for up to12 people gathered in front of the large theater screen. Turn down the lights and turn up the volume; you’ll feel just like you’re attending the local movie theater, only better! The only things missing are the refreshments – buttery popcorn and an ice cold soft drink. But wait! Don’t forget the rec room kitchen just a few steps away. Grab a cold drink from the refrigerator and pop a bag of popcorn in the microwave, and you’re all set!

Bedrooms
Silence is never more golden than at the end of a long day of hiking in the mountains or shopping in the city. At Golden Oak Lodge, you’ll enjoy your very own golden silence in the privacy of your king-sized suite. Arranged with your utmost comfort in mind, each suite includes a flatscreen TV, a dresser, twin night tables with matching lamps, private access to the outside deck, and an en-suite bathroom with a double vanity, walk-in shower, and jetted soaking tub. When you’re ready to seek that golden solace of your private space, you can turn on relaxing music and soak in the jetted tub. Snuggle under the covers and unwind with a good book by lamplight or with a relaxing show on the television. Dim the lights and silence the TV when you’re ready to drift off to sleep.

The entry level houses two of the suites. Upstairs houses another pair, separated by a fashionable sitting area. The second level is the best place for those who most appreciate peace in the evening. For any night owls in your party, the final suite on the bottom level will be the best in the house. As their suite adjoins the game room and is a very short distance from the theater room, guests on the third level can squeeze even the last ounce of fun from the day before dropping into bed for the night.

Outdoor Spaces
Three covered deck spaces provide ample opportunities for you to catch the first golden sunbeams as they creep across the sky, or the last ones as they hide away behind the Smoky Mountains. With so many gateways into the fresh mountain air, Golden Oak Lodge will persuade you, if you haven’t already, to fall in love with nature’s gold. Prepare a meal on the gas grill and sit down to eat at the picnic tables, rock in old-fashioned wooden rockers, or soak in the bubbling hot tub. Depending on the time of year, you might catch a skier swooshing down the snowy slopes from Ober Gatlinburg.

Community Amenities
Don’t miss the opportunity to meet fellow prospectors staying nearby.  Golden Oak Lodge is part of a greater community of cabins called Chalet Village Resort. As a guest of the lodge, you will have access to 3 clubhouses, outdoor swimming pools (with fun features for the littles), lighted tennis courts, play areas for the kids to burn off some energy, shuffleboard and horseshoes, foosball and ping pong, chess and checkers, workout equipment, walking trails, and free Wi-Fi! When you want to get out of your private lodge for a bit but don’t want to head into town, the community amenities in Chalet Village will be an awesome perk!

Local Fun

Golden opportunities abound at Golden Oak Lodge, but don’t forget – the city of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains in which it is nestled are teeming with gold!  Here are a few activities that might make you rich in memories.

Dollywood (in nearby Pigeon Forge)
Immerse yourself in the beautiful Smoky Mountains and its intriguing heritage. Enjoy food, rides, and shows, something for your entire group. While there, drop in the Lucky 7 Mine shop and check out the rocks and minerals. You might even find some Fools’ Gold!

Cades Cove
If you are not deterred by a short drive, you can visit a golden part of mountain culture. If history is your thing, you will enjoy learning about the lifestyle of an area that seems to have been sheltered by the mountains from time itself. Experience at leisure a drive through the park and short hikes to early mountain homesites.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Nature’s first green is gold, so says Robert Frost. Go out into it and bask in its golden beauty. If you don’t catch the first green of the spring, perhaps you’ll see the flaming oranges and golds of the fall. Whatever its colors, you won’t want to miss the many and varied golden hues of the natural world.

**Community pool access is provided and managed through a third party company. Cabins For You is not responsible for maintenance or pool closures. The pool is typically open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
