Description

Lovely mountain and tree-studded views await at Chubby and Cubby’s Den, a charming cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The 3-bedroom cabin has 3 bathrooms and space to sleep up to 6 guests, making it great for fun family vacations or a getaway with a few couples or friends. From laid-back afternoons sipping cocoa on the very private covered deck and soaking in the outdoor hot tub to shooting pool in the rec room and playing foosball – with mood lighting – on the screened-in deck, you’ll find yourself relaxing, playing, and enjoying some time away from it all at Chubby and Cubby’s Den.

In the living room, rustic wood walls pair perfectly with the stone (gas) fireplace and exposed wood beams. Relax on the leather sofas, flip on the flatscreen TV, check out the board games stored in the coffee table, and just enjoy some quiet time in this inviting space. Bring movies to pop in the DVD player and watch some shows with popcorn made in the kitchen nearby. The fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances, leathered granite countertops, and the dishes and utensils you need for in-cabin meals, and a dining table centered around a tree trunk. It has chair and bench seating for about 8, along with views just out the deck windows.

All throughout the cabin, find amenities to make your stay in the Smokies special. Soak in the jetted tub inside, watch TV in bed, unwind on the deck, play pool and foosball, and take advantage of conveniences like the washer/dryer, flat and paved parking with circular drive, and high-speed internet. Each bedroom has its own smart flatscreen TV with DVD or Blu-ray player, the master suite has its own sitting room, and the loft features a deck with seating for 2 and a view. Around 5 p.m. each night, listen and watch for the black bears to come visit…which they often do…near the front and side decks.

Living Room
A living room fit for quiet mornings, laid-back days, and cozy nights, this space features an inviting stone fireplace you can flip on during cool evenings in the Smoky Mountains. Two sofas flank a fireplace, and you can flip on the TV when you want to just relax. The chair with footstool is perfect for propping up your feet and cracking open a great book. A mix of rustic wood and cozy touches, this lovely living room will be a welcome retreat when you want to just unwind.

Kitchen
Open to the living room and dining table, the fully equipped kitchen has what you need for meals, snacks, drinks, and leftovers in the cabin. It’s outfitted with leathered granite countertops and stainless steel appliances – a stovetop/oven, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator – along with small appliances like a toaster and Keurig coffeemaker for your morning jolt. Just stop by the store for your ingredients and you’ll find dishes, glasses, utensils, and tools in the cabin.

Dining Table
Situated between the kitchen and living room, the dining table at Chubby and Cubby’s Den features log benches and chairs and a sweet tree popping up through the middle! This whimsical table is the perfect place for a nice meal, decorating holiday cookies, or playing card games late into the night.

Rec Loft
Game time is fun at the cabin, with a rec loft dedicated to playing and hanging out. Showcasing mountain views through the windows here, it’s an open and airy space that still lets you enjoy the Smokies. Here you can shoot some pool or sit down at the cocktail table arcade console for some classic gaming. An upholstered chair is a cozy spot to curl up with a book, and there are more chairs in the corner for spectators.

Bedrooms
After you’ve spent the day playing at Dollywood, hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, or strolling along the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg, the 3 cozy bedrooms of Chubby and Cubby’s Den will be your own little retreats. One bedroom features a mountain motif, log bed, a bedside table and bench, and a couple windows for that lovely morning mountain light. Another has a bedside lamp for reading, an indoor jetted tub and sink in the room, and a dresser where you can unpack. In the third and largest, find bedside tables and lamps, windows for wooded views, a jetted tub, and a sitting area with a sofa and large coffee table.

Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and a flatscreen smart TV with cable and a DVD or Blu-ray player, so each guest can have a private, relaxing, and comfortable space of their own. Each bedroom also has its own en-suite bathroom, making it easy for guests to get ready.

Outdoor Spaces
Start with the black bear statue and iron bench welcoming you to Chubby and Cubby’s Den as you walk up on the front porch. The wraparound deck has plenty of other nice spaces to enjoy the natural surroundings, including some spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Sit back on the covered deck in the 2 rocking chairs overlooking the mountains or climb into the hot tub on the screened-in deck.

The screened-in deck also boasts a foosball table for some fun, along with a bench, chairs, and a table with padded wicker seating with checkers! Step out onto another portion of covered deck for rocking chairs and a porch swing looking out at great views.

Reviews for Chubby and Cubby's Den

We're thrilled you had a great stay at Chubby and Cubby's Den! We're looking forward to hosting you again in the future!

  • "The cabin is beautiful! We traveled with our adult children and their spouses. There was plenty of privacy for all of us. We saw bear, bobcat, hawks, and salamanders. The view is absolutely breathtaking! The look of mountains changes at various times of day. I loved sitting on porch for hours and just unwinding with our family. This cabin is perfectly located for so many things to do. We shopped, hiked, rode mountain coaster and ate at really great restaurants. We are looking forward to going back! Things I’d bring with me next time. Pans like cookie sheet for carrying food from bbq grill into house, Binoculars, first aid kit, extra towels and extra kitchen towels."

  • "After booking I went and read reviews. Probably should have before I booked but I always forget to. I’m glad I didn’t, the reviews really weren’t that great and made me question of booking with them was a good idea. I can say our experience was amazing!!! Not a single complaint. We went to celebrate a friends 30th birthday. The cabin we stayed in (chubby and cubby’s den) was just close enough to town that we didn’t have to drive far and just far enough away from town that we didn’t have to deal with all the crazy traffic. Our view was amazing. Cabin was super clean. Everything was perfect. Communicating with the staff was a little hard but not impossible. Trying to call it had you waiting over an hour. I never waited just hung up and emailed them and they would immediately call me back. If I could give it a 10 star I definitely would."

  • "Loved Chubby and Cubby’s Den. It was very clean and roomy! My family loved the hot tub and the spacious porches, and had a wonderful view of the mountains. The only concern was the road is very narrow getting to this cabin, but we adjusted and had a great time!"
