A feeling of home welcomes you in to Slow Down, a charming Smoky Mountain cottage overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains. The 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin with space for up to 8 guests is great for fun family vacations, a couples’ retreat, or a laid-back weekend with friends. When you want to get away and enjoy the slower pace of the mountains, this comfortable cabin in Gatlinburg is a great place to call home. It’s even pet friendly, so you don’t have to leave anyone behind!

Slip away to Slow Down for quiet afternoons sipping a drink (and looking out at the mountains) on the covered deck, playing foosball or watching TV in the rec room, enjoying lunch at the kitchen table in your own cabin, soaking up the sun from your lounge chairs on the open deck, or just hanging out with family and friends in front of the fire in the living room. Slow Down is also outfitted with lots of conveniences, including wireless internet, a flat, paved driveway, futons for extra sleeping space, and a fully equipped kitchen where you can make your own meals.

Less than 10 miles from downtown Gatlinburg, it gives you that in the mountains feel while still making it easy to make trips to down to hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, go out for dinner, do some shopping, or check out the fun attractions in the Smokies. Add community pool access – and views of it from your deck – and Slow Down is a great all-around cabin for fun and relaxing Gatlinburg getaways.

Living Room
The plush leather sofa in the living room is the place for afternoon naps, cozying up in front of the fireplace, and hanging out to watch TV. The space here is open and bright, with a wicker chair and ottoman and large glass doors leading to the deck. You can watch a ball game, catch the late-night news, or bring along your favorite movies to pop into the DVD player for a movie night. The dining table is also here, so you can watch TV or chat with guests in the living room while you grab a bite.

Kitchen | Dining Table
Love making your own meals when you’re away from home? Want a place to store leftovers (or creamy fudge!)? Just like having a place to keep snacks and drinks to enjoy around the cabin? In Slow Down, you’ll have a lovely kitchen that’s equipped with everything you need to do all that. It features a stainless-steel refrigerator, built-in microwave, and stove/oven, along with a coffeemaker and ample dishes, glassware, and utensils for in-cabin meals. Then sit down at the 3-person high-top table for a meal, or take your plate outside to the covered deck to enjoy some mountain breezes with your meal.

Rec Room
Love lazy days hanging out around the cabin? Want a place to break from the summer heat or stay warm when winter days come? Head to the rec room in Slow Down, where you can unwind and play – with tree-studded views. Here you can challenge someone to a game of foosball, play checkers, or just find the perfect comfy spot on one of the futons or in the bean bag. Or you can sneak down here for a quick nap. There is space on the floor for little ones to crawl around, and a big screen TV makes it the perfect place to watch ball games or movies. Or you can grab a good book and tuck away in the cozy little corner with a wingback chair and mountain views.

Bedrooms
Both of the bedrooms in Slow Down are relaxing and cozy, perfect for unwinding after exploring downtown. One bedroom also serves as the rec room, while the other bedroom features a queen-size bed, nightstands, a bedside lamp, a dresser, and its own TV. It even has easy deck access, so you can step out for some fresh air or enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. After a long day shopping at the outlets, strolling along the Parkway, or checking out the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, this cozy space will be a warm welcome home. The other bedroom also has a queen-size bed, and because it’s also the rec room, it will be the coveted spot for the kids!

Outdoor Spaces
What’s a Smoky Mountain cabin without great outdoor spaces? At Slow Down, you’ll have an open deck and a lower covered deck where you can soak in the views, get some sun, bask in warm, sunny days, and enjoy cool mountain evenings. On the upper open deck, lie back in the lounge chairs and get some sun as you overlook the community pool. It’s a great spot for a cold drink on a quiet afternoon.

On the lower deck, you’ll have plenty of shade and a place to unwind after long days. Grab a drink or a snack and sit down at the 4-person table, relax in the rocking chairs looking out at the mountains, or climb into the hot tub for a soothing soak after a busy day. There is even a nice grassy area where kids can play or the dog can run around!

Other Amenities
The spaces in Slow Down were made for relaxing and enjoying days in the mountains, and the cabin is equipped with plenty of conveniences to make stays away from home easy and comfortable. The pet-friendly cabin also features wireless internet, so it’s easy to stay connected or check our blog to see what’s happening while you’re in town. The fireplace is a nice focal point in the living room, and the electric grill is great for cookouts!

Not too far from downtown Gatlinburg, Slow Down offers easy access to the best of the Smoky Mountains. Whether you want to have adventures in the nation’s most visited national park, want to sip on moonshine and listen to live music, or you want to play with the kids at area attractions, there’s always something to do.
