Description

Plan your next family vacation, bachelor trip, or girls weekend in the Smoky Mountains at Hen Wallow Creek Cottage. Tucked away in the countryside of the Smokies — just a few miles from Hen Wallow Falls and less than a mile from a local distillery — with lush trees all around and a babbling creek running through its flat, green yard, this mountain vacation home is a beautiful and serene escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg.

As a ranch-style cottage, this Gatlinburg cabin offers a more accessible design and plenty of space to enjoy the peace of Appalachia inside and outside. Along with exciting add-ons — like a ping-pong table and a screened patio with rockers — you’ll have all the homey amenities expected with Cabins for YOU. Take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with a fireplace, TVs in the bedrooms, free Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and keyless entry.

Plus, this 3-bedroom, 2½-bath vacation rental has an indoor jetted tub for spa baths anytime, a toasty firepit for s’mores by starlight, a DVD player for movie nights together, a charcoal grill and outdoor table for meals set in nature, and a mix of 1 king, 1 full, and 2 twin beds. Plan for a peaceful Smoky Mountain retreat with the whole family or a small group of friends at this secluded Gatlinburg cabin rental.

Living Room
As soon as you step inside your creekside cottage in Gatlinburg, you’ll be struck by its eclectic design. Antique pieces paired with modern accents fill the living room. You’ll find a large leather couch alongside 2 padded glider chairs. Between these chairs is a stone-set gas fireplace — the perfect place to warm up in the Smoky Mountains on chilly evenings.

Also, enjoy extra seating, a large ottoman, reading lamps, a flatscreen TV, and a DVD player in this welcoming space. After a long day of shopping for Appalachian souvenirs, exploring museums along the Parkway, or hiking to waterfalls in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you’ll appreciate a cozy living room to unwind.

Kitchen
Featuring oak-colored cabinets and stainless steel appliances, the full kitchen at your vacation home is bright, open, and airy, offering you a comfortable place to prepare all your favorite homemade meals while you’re away. Stop by the Gatlinburg Farmers Market on your way to the cozy cabin and pick up all the seasonal fruits and vegetables you know your group will love.

Essentials provided include a double-door refrigerator, dishwasher, electric range, standard drip coffeemaker, microwave, and toaster. You’ll also have pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, glasses, and mugs so you can pack light. Take advantage of all that your Gatlinburg cabin has to offer for fresh, budget-friendly meals on your Smoky Mountain vacation!

Dining Room
With the personal touches and beautiful design of the dining room, your group will appreciate eating together in this inviting space. Sit down at the large cherry table with antique finished chairs overlooking the trees outside. There’s also a large hutch, a separate China cabinet, and overhead lighting for an intimate meal with the family away from the hectic pace of work and school schedules back home.

Dining earlier in the day around the dining room table, you can enjoy natural light streaming through the French doors — enough to brighten the whole room and give you serene wooded views with every bite. In the evenings, pour a round of Ole Smoky Moonshine to enjoy with friends while playing board games or cards, putting together a puzzle, or munching on Appalachian fudge.

Rec Room — Garage
Adding to the fun at your creekside cabin in Gatlinburg is the rec space in the large 2-door garage. Here, you can play ping-pong with friends or the kids like a game room or unwind with your partner in the chairs while sipping craft brews. On nice days in the Great Smoky Mountains, open the garage doors for an indoor/outdoor hangout spot.

Bedrooms
Whether you’re enjoying a Gatlinburg vacation with family or a mountain getaway with friends, having your own space to relax is ideal. At your 3-bedroom cabin, each bedroom offers homey furnishings, a TV, a ceiling fan for added comfort, and cozy bedding. Plus, there are 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom for added convenience.

The primary suite comes with a king-size bed, a private bath with an indoor jetted tub, and French doors leading to the deck. The second bedroom features antique furniture, including a writing desk, a full-size mirror, and a full-size bed. And the final bedroom has 2 twin-size beds with a writing desk for a shared nightstand in between.

Outdoor Spaces
Boasting a flat, spacious yard with a wooden footbridge crossing a flowing creek to yet another open space, Hen Wallow Creek Cottage is ideal for spending quality time in the great outdoors whether you’re visiting Gatlinburg in summer, fall, winter, or spring! Host a hillbilly golf tournament, play ball, set up yard games brought from home, dip your toes in the creek, or simply enjoy a wondrous walk with loved ones. There’s even a firepit with Adirondack chairs for memorable marshmallow roasts under a blanket of stars!

Plus, you’ll have an open deck with a charcoal grill for cookouts, a second open deck in a tree-studded setting, and a screened patio that connects all 3 outdoor spaces. On the patio, gaze at the towering trees and calming creek, sip drinks in the rocking chairs, and enjoy outdoor dining at the table.

Other Amenities
Conveniences at your Smoky Mountain cabin rental include a washer and dryer set for laundry as needed, keyless entry for simple self check-in and checkout, and free Wi-Fi to plan for more activities with our Smoky Mountain vacation blog. Additionally, this Tennessee cottage has handicap features (though not ADA compliant): doors are 36 inches wide, and the deck (with 2 shorter steps to head inside) offers easier access.

Local Fun
Hen Wallow Creek Cottage is a secluded rental cabin, located just a few miles from its namesake — the beautiful Hen Wallow Falls. Be sure to check out the falls, pop over to Adventure Distilling Company (less than a mile away), and venture to downtown Gatlinburg (a little less than 18 miles away). There, you’ll find dozens of restaurants, shops, and attractions that will add to the fun of your stay. Explore Ripley’s Aquarium, snowboard at Ober Mountain, dine with mountain views atop Anakeesta, and oh-so-much more!

Plus, you can head into neighboring Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, or Wears Valley for even more options — including Dollywood Theme Park, Soaky Mountain Water Park, and The Island. And the Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers plenty of outdoor activities, like hiking trails, mountainbikings, or fly fishing! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the house.

cleanliness, location, jacuzzi, amenities Communication with management was quite difficult. Since sometimes they didn't pick up the phone at all, it's good that they provided me with an email for communication.

Wonderful location, beautiful setting. Decent home, but showing its age, could use some freshening up. I would stay again though.

Secluded Cottage with Mountain Views and a Flowing Creek

The cottage was very cozy and welcoming. The cottage had everything we needed for our Christmas vacation. They even had a Christmas tree up for us. The jacuzzi hot tub was a hit with the kids. We enjoyed relaxing and warming up next to the fireplace. Although, the beds were not very comfortable. The views of the mountains and sounds of the flowing creek were breath-taking. The cottage sits along side the Smoky Mountians National Park. We look forward to our next stay.
Response from Cabins for You
We're delighted to hear that you found our cottage cozy and welcoming and that you had a wonderful Christmas vacation with us, Kathleen. It warms our hearts to know that your family enjoyed the jacuzzi hot tub and fireplace, despite the beds not meeting your expectations. Your kind words about the breathtaking views and sounds of the mountains mean the world to us. We can't wait to welcome you back for another memorable stay!

Relaxation

Hen Hollow Cottage was Perfect for US. It is located ON a little creek, so you can sit in the screened in sun room and listen to the water.. and nature...... Complete Relaxation. We originally had an issue with the HOT TUB But called maintenance and it was fixed quickly (few hours). The ONLY complaint I would have is the house has well water and the water seemed murky and cloudy.
