The Titanic in Pigeon Forge has announced a fun family activity that will dazzle spectators. On January 22, 2011 The Titanic in Pigeon Forge will play host to some amazing ice sculpturists that will participate in a competition for both professionals and amateurs. Spectators will get to watch as ice sculpturists pick and chizzle their ways to some amazing pieces of art made of frozen water.

It’s hard to believe it, but it’s true. The first snow has officially fallen in the Smokies. Three inches touched ground on Mt. Leconte on Monday, October 4th. Leconte Lodge staff reported on Highonleconte.com that this was the biggest first snow in over thirty years. On Sunday, temperatures reached a high of 39 degrees and a low of 24 degrees which ushered in the snow the next morning.
Hiking is a wonderful exercise and the best way to see the beautiful scenery of the Smoky Mountains is by “hitting the trail”. Whether you want to do a short trail or a long vigorous one you’ll find what you need in the Smoky Mountain National Park. The 35th annual Gatlinburg Craftsmen Fair will be going on October 7-23, 2010. If you’ve missed the past 34 Fairs then now is the time to make it up! This Craftsmen Fair highlights the many unique talents of local artisans. They will have their goods on display for purchase and will even do demonstrations of the works. This event has been a Top 20 Event in the Southern US by the Southeast Tourism Society for many years so you know it has to be good!

On Saturday, September 25, 2010 sharks will enter the Little Pigeon River and race downstream for the chance to win $10,000 for their sponsors. The sharks aren’t real sharks, they’re rubber sharks that will have been purchased by donors wishing to support a good cause.
