Smoky Mountain 4th of July

So you will be spending your Independence Day celebrating in Tennessee? Congratulations! This is a great place to spend July 4th, celebrating with friends and family. There is a lot to do in the Smoky Mountain area on July 4th. We are, in fact, incredibly proud of our nation and the freedoms that have been afforded us by the sacrifices of so many.

In case you want a plan of attack before heading out into the droves that will be joyfully celebrating, here are a few of the things going on in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on July 4, 2012.

4th of July fireworksPatriot Festival: This fun filled event begins at noon and goes full force until 10:00pm. The Patriot Festival will be held at Patriot Park. There will be free parking available at the Municipal Parking lot on Teaster Lane. From the Municipal Parking lot, you can either walk to Patriot Park, or you can ride one of the Pigeon Forge Trolleys to Patriot Park. If you want to walk, have at it. But don’t forego the shuttle to save money. For this event, taking the shuttle is free.  Once you arrive you will find games, food, and entertainment for the whole family. The celebration will be brought to a close with a spectacular fireworks show.

A Visit from Uncle Sam: Your kids have had their picture made with Santa, the Easter Bunny, and maybe a few Disney characters, now you can add a new patriotic personality to that line-up. On July 4, 2012, head over to the Incredible Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge and meet Uncle Sam.

Independence Day Sidewalk Sale: Do not miss out on some great shopping. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate than by getting a few good bargains. Pigeon River Crossings outlets will be having their Independence Day Sidewalk Sale. If you can’t make it on July fourth, because you are busy at the Patriot Festival and meeting Uncle Sam, don’t fret. The Independence Day Sidewalk Sale starts on July 4, but it does not end until July 8. SO you have plenty of time to get a good deal.
