New Year in Gatlinburg, Tennessee!

Gatlinburg Tennessee is a wonderful place to spend New Year. Wonderful activities are available for the family. There are a myriad of  incredibly romantic event options for couples. And if you are a single person concerned with how to make this the last year to be welcomed in by you as a single, what better place to start than Gatlinburg where the streets, shops, and restaurants will be full of people from all over the country?!

10th Annual Dance with the Sharks — Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is partying from 9p.m. to 1 a.m.! They will have two live bands; Kevin McQuire & Friends and Rock-It. There are two dance floors. One floor will have an eight piece band and the other will have a DJ! And while you are partying throughout the aquarium, they will be providing you with heavy hors d’oeuvres. At midnight there will be a champagne toast and fireworks to bring in the new year. And just to make sure you never forget the wonderful event, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies will give the gift of a personal souvenir photo! What better way to bring in the new year than by dancing with sharks?! Kids arrangements and programs are also available.

The Ball Drop — For the past twenty-three years, Gatlinburg has welcomed the New Year with a ball drop and fireworks show at the space needle. But if you say you have seen all kinds of objects dropped to bring in the new year, and that fireworks have been done, then come see the Space Needle area all aglow from the light of the surrounding rooftops at the beginning of a music program! Bringing in the new year will not be the only fun to be had at this venue, as you wait you will enjoy live entertainment and the music of local favorite Kevin McGuire from the balcony of the Convention Center. Party Favors are also provided near the base of the Space Needle.One of the greatest draws to this particular event can be summed up in one word: FREE!!

Other New Years Options — Blaine’s Restaurant, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere, Lineberger’s Seafood Company and T.G.I. Friday’s are prime areas from which to watch the fireworks. Each restaurant offers varying New Years packages that include treats such as music, buffets, and a champagne toast.
