Cabin Rental Locations
There are literally
thousands of cabin rentals in the Smoky Mountains.
Planning your vacation is a big task and finding the
right cabin is critical. Don’t forget about one of the
most important aspects of a cabin rental, it’s location.
There are many different “areas” that you could choose
from as far as location of the cabin. You might want to
be in the mountains, in a valley, or close to downtown
Gatlinburg TN. The preference between what location
you’re at is yours. If you want to be up in the
mountains it would be disappointing to realize you’re in
a valley upon arrival. When calling to inquire about
cabins, it’s helpful to know exactly what are your cabin
is located.
Being just a short distance to downtown Gatlinburg TN is a “must” for
some vacationers. For those of you who want to walk to
downtown you’ll be interested in the Downtown and
Baskins Creek Area. Of course, the downtown
Gatlinburg cabins are
close to town and are normally less than a mile from
downtown. However, just because it’s less than a mile
from downtown does not mean it will be safe to walk due to curvy
roads or a steep hill. Be sure you ask about the roads.
Baskins Creek cabins are near downtown and could be a
quick drive from downtown. If these are the type
locations you want to be at, then ask for downtown or
Baskins Creek area cabins.
A little further out, but still not high up on a mountain
are cabins located in the Pittman Center area. These
cabins are out in the woods and have easy access to
outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, kayaking,
etc. You might also be interested in the cabins around
Roaring Fork. These cabins aren’t very far away from
downtown but some offer wonderful views of the Smoky
Mountains that you wouldn’t get from a cabin located
closer to downtown Gatlinburg.
If you want to be located somewhere between Pigeon Forge
and Gatlinburg so that you have access to what both
cities have to offer, then the area called The Spur would
be best for you. These cabins are located off the
road running in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Some of them have great mountain views and are very
secluded. However, they’re not that far from either
town. Some of these cabin rentals may require four wheel
drive during the winter months, so be sure you ask about
that as well when inquiring about these cabins.
Ober Gatlinburg, Ski Mountain and Chalet Village is
where you will want to be if you want amazing mountain
views and being high up on the mountains. Ober Gatlinburg is a
ski resort that has a mall and amusement park. It can be
accessed by the Aerial Tram. The cabins on Ski Mountain
are located at traffic light number 10 in Gatlinburg TN.
While some of these are only 5 minutes from downtown
there are some that go miles up the mountain. The roads
are steep and curvy but once you look off your deck at
the mountain beauty you’ll realize the drive was worth
it. If your cabin is high up on the mountain a four
wheel drive vehicle may be needed. Buses will not fit up
the mountain to go to these cabins. Chalet Village is
not too far from Ober Gatlinburg. This is a cabin
community that has many cabins that are only 2-6 miles
from the downtown Gatlinburg area.
Whatever area you choose be sure that is the area your
cabin is located in. Wonderful memories await you as you
plan your trip to the Smoky Mountains. Ask all the
