Description

Reclaimed on a valley farm in West Virginia and restored in beautiful Tennessee by the Barnwood Builders in 2022, The Homestead was originally a mid-1800s dogtrot cabin with a breezeway that has been transformed into a lovely common area with mountain vistas, a stacked stone fireplace, a modern full kitchen, and a covered deck with a hot tub. Lovingly rebuilt after the 2016 Gatlinburg wildfires, this single-level, 2-bedroom cabin in Gatlinburg offers accommodations for up to 8 guests plus relaxing extras to make your family vacation, weekend with friends, holiday getaway, or spring break in the Smoky Mountains wonderful.

Unwind in the bubbling hot tub with soothing water jets while taking in the majestic mountain vistas. Sway in the rocking chairs with a glass of sweet tea, a cup of coffee, or a pour of wine. In fall and winter, enjoy the warmth of a gas log fire with a good book or a great friend. You can fire up the charcoal grill and dine at the outdoor table or fix meals in the fully equipped kitchen to dine inside at your log cabin in the Smokies.

On opposite sides of this 1,400-square-foot Gatlinburg cabin rental, you’ll find authentic hand-hewn logs of white oak with chinking and dovetail notching, which house the bedrooms and attached en-suite bathrooms. Accommodations for up to 8 guests include 2 king beds and 2 twin bunks. There are TVs in the bedrooms plus a big screen TV in the living room for added entertainment on your Gatlinburg vacation.

For more fun, head to nearby family-friendly attractions, shops, events, and eateries less than 4 miles from the Timber Ridge community! You'll be tucked away just off The Spur — between downtown Gatlinburg and downtown Pigeon Forge. Homey conveniences at your Gatlinburg cabin rental include free Wi-Fi to stay connected, a stacked washer/dryer, and self check-in with keyless entry. Enjoy peaceful moments and unforgettable times at this cozy cabin in the Smokies — with a natural setting, exposed beams, historic features, beautiful tongue-and-groove construction, and modern extras.

Living Room
After a full day of fun horseback riding in Cades Cove, meeting black bears at Ober Mountain, or oohing at Ripley’s Aquarium, return to the comfort of your Gatlinburg cabin. With a rustic ambiance throughout the open-concept living area, you’ll be transported to the pioneer past.

Sip Appalachian moonshine while chatting with friends in front of the gas fireplace. Gaze at passing clouds across the beautiful mountain landscape through the wall of windows. And for a nice modern touch, you’ll have a 65-inch ONN/Roku smart TV for entertainment anytime while lounging on the reclinable sofas.

Kitchen
Hungry after adventures with Smoky Mountain Outdoors Rafting or a major shopping spree in town? Don’t worry about popping into town for good eats and sips. Enjoy homemade meals, restaurant leftovers, baked treats, mixed cocktails, and more with the fully equipped, galley-style kitchen at your Gatlinburg rental cabin.

Granite countertops, wood cabinetry, pots and pans, cooking tools, dining utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, and standard appliances are all provided. Brew pots of joe with the standard drip coffeemaker, rinse fresh veggies and fruits in the double sink, cook with the electric range, use the microwave for movie-night popcorn, and load the dishwasher before bed.

Dining Area
Talk about all the fun fall, winter, spring, and summer things to do in Gatlinburg while dining at the table set in front of marvelous mountain views at your Smoky Mountain cabin rental. There’s also a wall bar for added space that’s great for setting up a laptop or crafts for the kids. Between mealtimes, play board games or cards at the table.

Bedrooms
At your 2-bedroom cabin in the Smoky Mountains, you’ll have a king-size bed plus 2 built-in twin-over-twin bunks in each bedroom. As the most historic parts of this log cabin, you’ll find great attention to detail; the beams were painstakingly marked to ensure accurate restoration of the early cabin.

For more entertainment, each bedroom has its own 40-inch Hisense/Roku smart TV. Both bedrooms even have an attached bathroom with a shower/tub combo for added privacy when heading to bed or getting ready for the day. And you'll have a ceiling fan in each bedroom for added comfort.

Outdoor Spaces
Between hiking to Smoky Mountain waterfalls, fly fishing for rainbow trout, or kayaking the Little Pigeon River, retreat to the covered spacious deck with panoramic mountain views at your Gatlinburg cabin. Relax in the rocking chairs while admiring the many colors of fall, drifting snowflakes of winter, vibrant blooms of spring, or lush trees of summer.

A hot tub offers soothing soaks morning, noon, or night. And there’s a charcoal picnic-style grill plus an outdoor table for fun mountain cookouts with the whole family! We loved the Homestead! It was one of the best vacations we’ve had in awhile. The cabin was very clean and as a mom to very small children and a baby- very much baby safe in my opinion!
The only thing I wish I knew of ahead of time was the sharp turn right before you get the the cabin, if you have a bigger vehicle (we have a truck) you’ll likely have to back up in order to make that turn! But no issues what so ever with the cabin!
Response from Cabins for You
It’s wonderful to hear your family felt safe and enjoyed the cabin! Thank you for noting the small driving challenge — your tip will surely help future guests. We’re thrilled it contributed to a memorable vacation. We hope to have you back soon, thank you.

The views from the balcony were absolutely amazing. We were there for new year's eve and saw the firework display in Pigeon Forge from the balcony. It was beautiful. We had a peaceful and relaxing time. Definitely worth the drive up the mountain. Just make sure to be home before sunset, the narrow roads get sketchy in complete darkness. 10/10 would stay here again
Response from Cabins for You
Amazing that you caught the New Year’s Eve fireworks from the balcony! It sounds like a wonderfully peaceful and scenic getaway. Thanks for the heads-up about sunset drives, safety is always key. We hope to have you back soon, thank you.

We loved our stay in the Homestead Cabin! The views were amazing and being able to stay in an authentic log cabin (restored and updated to include all the modern amenities ????) was a wonderful experience! We’ve been to Gatlinburg many times and have stayed in a different cabin each time and have finally found one we are truly excited to go back to! The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens of any short term rental property we’ve stayed at!
Response from Cabins for You
Nothing makes us happier than knowing you found a cabin you’re excited to return to! The Homestead Cabin truly is special, and we love that you enjoyed both its charm and modern comforts. Hearing that the kitchen exceeded expectations means so much to us. We can’t wait to welcome you back for another amazing stay!

We loved our stay here, and even saw the cutest black bear RIGHT OUTSIDE the cabin! We watched him as he searched around and nibbled on the grass. It was so amazing! Please understand that the road getting up to the cabin involved VERY tight hairpin turns. We were in an SUV and could barely make the turn. Our family was in a truck and had to do a two-point turn to make it up. If you’re going when there’s ANY weather (even rain) please make sure your car and tires are fully capable. It rained and was slick coming back down- especially nerve wracking in the dark. But once you get up to the top WOWZA.
Only other drawback (but also a pro?) is that they fully drain and refill the hot tub for each guest, so we couldn’t use the hot tub our first night because it took the full night to reach 100+ degrees.
Response from Cabins for You
It sounds like your stay was truly unforgettable—spotting a black bear sounds absolutely magical! Thank you for sharing your helpful tips about the road and weather; we understand how those sharp turns can be tricky, especially at night. Your patience with the hot tub on the first night means a lot to us, and we’re glad you appreciated the fresh start for every guest. Hearing about your WOW moment at the top makes it all worthwhile!
