Reviews for TreeTops at Wears Valley

  • "First, do NOT follow GPS! Once you turn on the cabin's main road, follow the provided instructions! Going the wrong way can get you in quite the situation. Rule of thumb - keep going right! With that said... the entire roadway is not paved. There are stretches (up steep hills) with loose gravel and potholes. We had someone from our group arriving in a car (the rest were in SUV's) that we had to make other arrangements for because there is no way they could make it up. The cabin itself sits at the very top of the drive and does have a flat enough area for parking. I will warn you; there is not much of a view available. You are surrounded by trees and more trees. We didn't mind, but this isn't the cabin for a gorgeous mountain view. I was pleasantly surprised to see the kitchen stocked with a vast selection of kitchen essentials (minus a peeler!). The wifi is absolutely fantastic - there were times where 3 of us were running laptops from it flawlessly. I read that the property is sprayed for bugs on a monthly bases, but we did encounter a couple of roaches in the house and I was greeted with a large spider in the shower! No biggie, though. The water is HOT and the water pressure is amazing. The beds weren't anything to write home about, but we had no complaints, either! Overall, we enjoyed our experience and TreeTops at Wears Valley treated us very well!"

  • "My first impression of this cabin was not good, only due to the fact we went up the wrong driveway first, and it was terrifying! Lol That being said, it is a steep drive up to the cabin, and a narrow road, one car wide. We made it fine in our van, in low gear. Going up, ALWAYS go to the right, and you will dead end into this cabin. Once we calmed down and started to relax after the ordeal, we started appreciating everything it had to offer. The kitchen is very well stocked, ice maker in the freezer, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, etc. we wanted for nothing ! The water pressure is awesome, and the water is HOT, so be a little careful with that, but everyone could take a shower and not run out of hot water, as a matter of fact, three could take a shower at the same time in all the bathrooms and still have pressure AND hot water!! The cabin has free WiFi that is fantastic, but you probably won’t need it, our phones picked up reception just fine with our server. The cabin has xfinity cable with a huge selection of channels, so you won’t have to worry about finding something to watch if you get stuck inside. We only used the main floor, and upstairs bedroom, and we found the beds to be very comfortable, all three bathrooms were good sized too, plus plenty of closet space. There were plenty of towels for all five of us, during our stay we had a total of twelve towels. All three bedrooms had a T.V. as did the living room. The air conditioner works great, but I will warn you, the lower floor bedroom gets very cold if you have the main floor comfortable, and the upper floor gets a little warm, however there is a unit in the wall upstairs that you can use to cool it off more, we didn’t use it because our girls like it warmer. The lower floor’s coldness didn’t bother us, as the only time we were down there we were playing air hockey and needed it cold! Lol If you like trees, lots and lots of trees, this cabin is for you!! The view is trees, trees and more trees, you are surrounded by trees, out of one of the corners you can see a little peek of a mountain, but the trees kind of cover it up. You are at the end of the road, with only one cabin near you, but the trees block their view of you. If we had any complaint about this cabin, it would be that the hot tub is on the bottom deck, and at night, the bottom deck is a little exposed to nature, since the steps are right by the hot tub. The main floors deck has a beautiful porch swing, and several rocking chairs, plus a large picnic table. Overall this was a wonderful cabin, and we would definitely stay there again!!"
