Welcome to the Mountaintop Paradise of Anakeesta with All NEW Additions!

Before we discuss what is new, what is Anakeesta, in the first place? Built in 2017, Anakeesta rests high above the Parkway of downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee, nestled 600’ among the mountaintops. The entrance to Anakeesta starts with an incredibly scenic ride on the Chondola, a one-of-a-kind sky lift car accessible right in downtown at 576 Parkway, a perfect addition to your day of awesome excursions and relaxing in your Gatlinburg cabin! Hop out of the Chondola and step foot into a dreamy mountain village with pristine gardens, cozy sitting areas with rocking chairs and fire pits, and tons of great stuff to do for couples, large groups, and families. Designed as a tribute to the natural beauty and rich culture of the Smoky Mountains, everything from the shopping and dining to things to do and seasonal events are centered on being outdoors and taking in the breathtaking views from this village nestled among the clouds.

Here’s our helpful breakdown of all things awesome in Anakeesta, from the new to the less new, and a few helpful hints!

What to Explore and Do

NEW! Discover Vista Gardens
What could be better than a blooming botanical garden with a peaceful walking path following a babbling stream? All of this beauty with sweeping views of the Smoky Mountains in the backdrop! This lovely trail leads to a delightful gnome village, a children’s play area perfect for visiting families, and a pergola where guests can perch and let time stand still with miles of rolling mountain views while listening to cascading waters, birds, and soft breezes moving through the mountains.

Tour the Treetops!
At no additional charge, you definitely won’t want to miss out on a walk among the treetops along the 16 rope bridges suspended 40 to 60 feet above the forest floor! Kids and adults will love spotting all the wildlife fluttering about the trees and scouring the forests below as each new observation platform lends new views and informative signage. You may even get lucky and see the Smoky Mountains’ mascot, the black bear, as they forage for food and wander below your feet!

Fly Through the Trees!
Don’t just zipline, race to the finish line! Along the 3 scenic ziplines suspended side-by-side, you can race your friends or family, simply laugh and enjoy your flight through the trees together. Test your courage at the challenge stations where you’ll take a leap of faith (sort of) to a controlled descent to a cushioned landing pad.

A Beautiful Reminder
Back in 2016, 15,000 acres of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Gatlinburg were ravaged by the worst fire in Tennessee’s history. As a tribute to the brave first responders and a showcase of strength in the area’s restoration and rejuvenation, Memorial Forest Walk is a peaceful walk through the scorched forests guided by informative signage detailing this inspirational Smoky Mountain story.

Now That You’ve Worked Up an Appetite…

NEW! Clifftop Bar and Grill
Dine eye-to-eye with the summit of Mt. LeConte and surrounding mountains while indulging in every bite of deliciousness offered on Cliff Top’s savory Southern menu! Sip on local beer and wine with friends while enjoying a beautiful Smoky Mountain dusk or catch one of the live musical performances in the evenings to unwind.

Anakeesta Smokehouse
Bring your appetite, because Anakeesta Smokehouse serves up delicious BBQ sandwiches, wraps, and more at this outdoor food stand with ample seating to enjoy the views! Pick up an ice-cold beer and other drinks to cool off on those sunny afternoons atop the mountain while lounging in the rocking chairs or cuddling on the bench seating overlooking Gatlinburg.

Pearl’s Pie in the Sky
All things ice cream and delicious desserts await you in this 1940s-style creamery, a perfect end to your meals, (or maybe beginnings).
