Wine Tasting at the Smoky Mountain Winery

The oldest winery in East Tennessee, Smoky Mountain Winery is located just minutes from the heart of downtown Gatlinburg. For years, the winery has been offering samples of its award-winning wines for guests to enjoy. It also boasts a gift shop that offers a wide variety of gifts, accessories, and home goods. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by walls of the winery’s best wines, along with the many regional, national, and international awards the Smoky Mountain Winery boasts. Among the many competitions won, the Smoky Mountain Winery holds awards for Best Commercial Wine and awards from the Easter Wine International.

The winery makes some of the best wine in the area, and they offer free tastings of more than 20 wines. When you stop in for a sample (for guests 21 and over only – ID required), try their chardonnay, semi-dry red table wine, rose wine, muscat semi-sweet wine, semi-sweet riesling, sangria, sweet concord, and flavors such as blackberry, peach, strawberry, and raspberry. Just step up to the front desk and get ready for some great sips. Once you sample some wines, choose your favorite and take a few bottles back to your cabin to enjoy. You can relax in the hot tub or in an indoor jetted tub as you sip a glass of chilled white wine or a rich glass of red.

In the gift shop, browse the many unique gifts, wine accessories, and home goods. As you explore the shop, find wine cork holders, mugs, hand-painted glasses, jewelry, wine bags, “Wine is Life” t-shirts, bags, Black Bear wine accessories, wine yokes, and more! You’ll lose yourself among the many tables of gifts, certainly finding some great things to help you remember your trip to the Smoky Mountains.

The Smoky Mountain Winery is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday. It’s located just minutes from the main Parkway at 450 Cherry Street Suite 2. You can contact the winery for more information at [email protected].

After an afternoon at the winery, head back to a cozy cabin in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Curl up by the fireplace in the living room as you enjoy a glass of your wine from the Smoky Mountain Winery, or sip wine as you breathe in the fresh mountain air from the decks. You can even add a candlelit dinner to your stay and enjoy your wine along with steak, baked potatoes, salad, and dessert. What a wonderful way to spend an evening in the Great Smoky Mountains!
