Originally opening in 2011, the Lumberjack Feud began as a unique dinner show that featured professional lumberjack athletes who competed for victory in logging events, such as ax swinging, chainsaw carving, logrolling, and tree climbing. Quickly becoming a Pigeon Forge favorite with its unique showmanship and hearty meal, the show was eventually bought by Dolly Parton, who added a touch of Southern flair with special effects and nimble acrobatics in 2015. By 2017, Dolly decided to create a new competitive show with a touch of romance called Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures – now the new Celebration! After missing the famed show for a little over a year, we can all finally breathe a sigh of relief with the exciting news that the Lumberjack Feud is scheduled to return this summer in 2018 — with the backing of Paula Deen! Known for her delicious Southern-style delicacies and warmhearted dishes, Paula opened Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, a mouthwatering restaurant at The Island, in Pigeon Forge only 3 years ago. As a Smoky Mountain super fan, calling Pigeon Forge her second home, Paula has decided to dip her toes further into the Pigeon Forge pool of entertaining attractions with the epic, and greatly anticipated, comeback of the Lumberjack Feud!
What’s New?
While keeping to the original competition is the main goal, Paula has a few new additions up her sleeve — sure to impress! Not only will the show feature 11 logging events (sneak peek below) to foster friendly competition between the Dawson and McGraw families, composed of world-class lumberjacks, but the audience will also have a chance to show off their own lumberjack skills on stage. And there will even be an interactive intermission event for the kiddos to enjoy!

The venue has moved from the original indoor space to an adventurous outdoor arena along the Parkway in Walden’s Landing, a charming shopping center with delectable restaurants and a miniature golf course. With the show’s overall outdoorsy theme, we couldn’t agree more with Paula’s choice to move the show to the great outdoors. Worried about the weather come showtime? Not to worry, the shaded grandstand will boast climate-control technology, including massive fans and heaters, plus padded seats for comfort. They’ve thought of everything!
