Celebrate Spring 2017 with Easter Events & Activities in the Smokies

Spring is in the air in the Great Smoky Mountains! The air is warm, the birds are singing, the hillsides are green, and the community calendar is packed with fun Easter events and activities for the whole family! There is plenty to do downtown, or read on for some fun ideas for recipes and activities in the cabin – especially if you’re traveling with kids!

2017 EASTER EVENTS IN THE SMOKIES

Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny | Pigeon Forge Community Center | April 15
Head to Patriot Park this Easter weekend (the Saturday before Easter) for a FREE Easter egg hunt for kids ages 0-12. Spend the day enjoying the spring air and some family fun for an Easter in the Smokies you won’t forget!

Brunch with the Easter Bunny | The Old Mill Pottery House Café & Grille | April 15
Enjoy a hearty country breakfast – and meet and greet with the Easter Bunny – at The Old Mill for a fun, family-friendly Easter activity. Then you can grab some biscuit or pancake mix and take it back to your Pigeon Forge cabin for homemade goodies any time! (purchase tickets ahead of time)

Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show | Gatlinburg Convention Center | April 12 – 18
Meet the talented artisans of the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community – and watch them at work – during this favorite Gatlinburg event. You can browse the aisles for handmade Easter and spring pieces, or pick up great gifts like pottery, baskets, blankets, photographs, honey and jams, leather goods, jewelry, candles, birdhouses, and more.

Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage | W.L. Mills Conference Center | April 11 – 15
2017’s 67th Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage is a wonderful opportunity to soak up some spring sun and learn more about the animals, wildflowers, trees, flowering bushes, and history of the Great Smoky Mountains. Sign up for classes, guided hikes, seminars, photography courses, and workshops that will give you a deeper understanding of what makes the area so beautiful and unique.

Easter Sunrise at Ober | Ober Gatlinburg | April 16
Hosted by the Gatlinburg Ministerial Association for the 20th year, the Easter Sunrise Service at Ober Gatlinburg brings people of all faiths together for an uplifting start to Easter. Take the free tram ride (starting at 5:30 a.m.) up to Ober or take advantage of complimentary parking. You can gather atop Mt. Harrison for a multidenominational service and then enjoy a breakfast buffet (7:15 – 10:30 a.m.) at the Season of Ober Restaurant.

Earth Week | Mynatt Park & In and around the Smokies | April 17 – 21
Learn about green practices and all things eco-friendly during Earth Week 2017 in the Smokies, and have fun with live music, kids’ activities, arts and crafts, good food and drinks, the Earth Day Festival on April 20 (3 – 6 p.m.) and the Earth Day 5K April 21-22.

Spur Clean Up With Keep Sevier Beautiful | between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge | April 18
Finish off a fun Easter weekend in the Smokies by doing your part to keep the area beautiful! At the Spur Clean Up on April 18, put together a team of family and friends and have some friendly competition over who can pick up the most!
