Summer 2012 Country Tonite Events

Country Tonite Theatre (and yes that’s how you spell it) has been named “the #1 show in the Smokies” by Reader’s Choice! It is also hosts the most award-winning shows in the Smokies. Country Tonite Theatre combines country classics with new country hits and comedy that will leave you in stitches. Because Country Tonite is the only show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, with child performers, it’s guaranteed to be a favorite with the kids too.

Country Tonite Theatre has an exciting schedule this summer. Aside from their nightly Country Tonite performances, they also have a few special things planned.

July 6: Mel Tillis will be gracing the Country Tonite stage at 8pm on Friday, July 6. Mel Tillis has been performing for over 50 years and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Of the more than 1,000 songs written by Tillis, over 600 have been recorded by major artists. He has celebrated 36 top ten singles, nine of which were #1: “Good Woman Blues”, “Coca Cola Cowboy”, and “Southern Rain” are a few. He has also appeared in films with actors such as Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds. This is certainly a show you do not want to miss. Tickets are $35.

July 27: George Jones! Need I say more?….well just in case. George Jones has had hits in every decade in the second half of the 20th century! George Jones has had more charted singles than any other artist in any format in the history of popular music. His repertoire includes such hits as “White Lightning”, “She Thinks I Still Care”, “The Grand Tour”, and (my personal favorite) “He Stopped Loving Her Today”. Mr. Jones is also a Country Music Hall of famer and this is a legend you absolutely do not want to miss. Tickets are $44.50.

August 24: Mickey Gilley has 17 number one hits. He has won such awards as Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, Song of the  Year, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year, and that was just in one year at the American Country Music Awards! Mickey Gilley will be in concert at the Country Tonite Theatre on Friday, August 24; at 8pm. Tickets are $35.

While in the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, area this summer, be sure to catch a show at the Country Tonite Theatre.
