Thanksgiving just ended, which means all the stores are packed with Christmas décor and it’s time to start shopping. Christmas is just weeks away and Gatlinburg is in full-on holiday mode. A nip in the air provides the perfect atmosphere for bundling up in scarves, mittens and warm jackets. Millions of lights will soon brighten the city streets, cinnamon and pine fills the air and the sounds of the season are inviting. As always, Gatlinburg is celebrating in style – the Great Smoky Christmas Arts & Crafts Show is no exception.
From November 26th through December 2nd, the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community will host its annual Christmas show at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. During their 75th anniversary celebration, the Arts & Crafts Community will showcase their work and offer great gifts for the holidays. Instead of buying something that anyone could get, pick out something truly unique from the Christmas show.
At the Christmas show, find one of a kind pieces for everyone on your list. Just a few of the things you will find are:
- Wood carvings
- Leather goods
- Jewelry and more!
No matter what you find at the Christmas Arts & Crafts Show, it is sure to be unique, beautiful and really special.
Year round, the shops in the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community are open for business. They are located on an eight mile loop that has been designated a Tennessee Heritage Arts & Crafts Trail. The community is the largest group of independent artisans in North America and was established in 1937. The talented artisans create baskets, quilts, dolls, pottery, ceramics, art, clothing, photography and more. You will also find restaurants, cafes, candy shops, soda fountains and lodging.
