Fall is creeping in slowly but surely! Scorching days and still-hot nights are quickly melting away into cool afternoons and breezy evenings. It will soon be time for all things pumpkin (think bread, muffins, lattes and pie!), hot chocolate and changing leaves. There are few places as beautiful as the Great Smoky Mountains in the fall, and there are few places with as many awesome seasonal things to do. Corn mazes are a popular family activity during this time of year. They are an exciting challenge for the whole family, and a great way to get out and enjoy nature! Below are a few of the best around the Gatlinburg area.<\/p>\n

Kyker Farms Corn Maze<\/strong> \u2013 This 5 acre maze in Sevierville, TN, is open weekends from September 23rd<\/sup> through October 29th<\/sup>, and the Haunted Trail will open October 8th<\/sup>, running on Friday and Saturday nights through the end of the month. There is also a \u201cTater Tot\u201d maze for little ones, a pumpkin patch, hay rides, bonfires, corn hole and more. Kids will also love the new critter barn and straw crawl. Life Down On The Farm <\/strong>\u2013 Located in Powell, TN (about 50 miles from Gatlinburg), is a corn maze with a little bit of something for everyone. Although it is designed to be challenging, there are exits available all along the way. It will run from September 29th<\/sup> through October 31st<\/sup> on Thursdays through Sundays. There will also be hay rides, a playground, a critter corner, a cow train ride, pony rides and a pumpkin patch. Life Down On The Farm will be fun for all! <\/p>\n

The Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch at Oakes Farm<\/strong> \u2013 Every weekend from September 24th<\/sup> through October 31st<\/sup>, families can flock to see this Corryton, TN\u2019s tribute to the Daytona 500 win of NASCAR driver Trevor Bayne etched into a corn maze. After winding through 4.3 miles of mystery and adventure, visitors can try scores of other activities. Tetherball, an animal exhibit, a hay maze, the mine shaft, and a downhill derby are just a few of the many things to try at Oakes Farm. There will also be concessions for all those candy cravings.
