Voted into the top 20 events in the Southern U.S. by the Southeast Tourism Society, the Craftsmen\u2019s Fair will offer an expansive blend of music and art from vendors both local and across the nation. The Gatlinburg Convention Center will be home to this splendid showcase from October 6<sup>th<\/sup>-23<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the year, Gatlinburg plays host to a number of fairs, but this one is unique in that there will be artisans from around the United States not only displaying and selling their hand-crafted goods, but also demonstrating their distinctive talents. Basket weaving, wood carving, painting and candle making are just a few of the interesting things you will find while perusing the over 200 booths at this exhibition. There is even a jury process in place to ensure that each vendor\u2019s work is authentic and of the utmost quality. The Southeast Tourism Society has said of the Craftsmen\u2019s Fair, \u201cRarely does an event come along that features the wonderful variety of juried artists as the Gatlinburg Craftsmen\u2019s Fair. It is a show that should not be missed!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While you look around, live bluegrass and country music from artists such as Tim Watson \u201cThe Fiddle Man,\u201d and Dennis Lee and Band will carry you along. On Sundays, shows will be at 12 pm and 2 pm; during the week, music will be live at 12, 2 and 4 pm. While you shop, also remember that the holidays are right around the corner, and this is a great chance to pick up some gifts for the whole family, or to fill your bag with Christmas decorations for all those holiday parties.<\/p>\n<p>There will be both new and returning artists this year, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>David Potter \u2013 20 years of experience in traditional and functional folk pottery<\/li>\n<li>Charles Adams \u2013 18 years at the Craftsmen\u2019s Fair with a large collection of stained glass windows, angels, sun catchers and more<\/li>\n<li>Randy McGovern \u2013 realistic animal oil paintings, with a particular fascination with rich colors and lights<\/li>\n<li>Fritz and Penny Simonecht \u2013 works in sculptured leather<\/li>\n<li>Jeffrey Jobe \u2013 skilled silversmith<\/li>\n<li>Penny Ogle \u2013 creates children\u2019s tents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is always something for everyone at the Gatlinburg Craftsmen\u2019s Fair, so stop by and stock up, or just take in the sights and sounds.
