Whether you just want to relax or you want to fill your days with activity, you will find plenty to do to make the most of the wet weather. Here are a few ideas of things to do for all different ages on a rainy day:

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies –This aquarium is huge, and it is a great way for kids and adults alike to pass several hours on a not-so-sunny day. There are thousands of fish, a coral reef, sharks, and several hands-on activities.

Pure Energy –When your teen starts getting antsy after a day in the cabin, you can drop him or her off at the largest under 21 nightclub in Tennessee. Pure Energy has a live DJ with today’s music, VIP lounges, state-of-the-art sounds and lights, Pepsi products and a full snack bar. Visit the Pure Energy website for any other information you need.

Cuddle up in the Cabin – Sometimes you really just don’t want to get out in the rain, and staying in can be just as fun. For the family, bring some games to play just in case, or rent a couple of movies and have a marathon! For the couple, cook dinner together and take a dip in the hot tub. There is nothing more romantic than curling up to the sound of the rain hitting the roof. If you just want some time to yourself, pick up your favorite book and settle into that comfy couch by the fireplace. You can read for a while, and more than likely, the rain will lull you to sleep for that quick nap you’ve been needing.

Take a drive –You don’t always have to hike in the Smoky Mountains to enjoy their incredible views. There are dozens of winding scenic roads to travel on a drizzly day. If the weather isn’t unsafe, grab some snacks, load up the car, and enjoy a few hours of sightseeing.

Shop! –This is pretty much a must whether it’s raining or not, but rain is an even better excuse to spend some time browsing the hundreds of stores in town. There are arts and crafts shops, outdoor outfitters and many outlet stores to choose from.

If a little bit of rain has threatened to wash out your Smoky Mountain getaway, don’t fret.
