The Spirit of America
Meant to celebrate the history of our nation and honor our heritage, The Spirit of America is a community show fundraiser benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Sevier County, TN. The show, put on at The Smoky Mountain Opry Theatre, will be a musical hosted by the Smoky Mountain Christian Village. Each ticket sale is considered a donation, so proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Sevier County.

Adult tickets are $10, while child tickets (under 13) are just $5! You can also purchase a VIP package for $25 which entitles you to: preferred theater seating and a pre-show reception including light hors d’oeuvres and a photo with “Challenger,” the Ambassador for the American Eagle Foundation. The VIP sessions start 45 minutes before show time. Show times are March 30th, 2014, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. You can purchase tickets on the official website. There are no hidden fees, and when you attend this event you are not only having fun, but also helping others!

Dollywood reopening
After months of being closed, opening day is almost here! On March 22, 2014, Dollywood will reopen for the spring season. Adding to the excitement of opening day, the park now has one more rollercoaster on their amazing lineup of family theme park rides. Next time you’re in the area, make sure to try out the FireChaser Express, the new dual-launching roller coaster!

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park reopening
One of the most beautiful places in America is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! And as the spring seasons begins, different areas of the park begin opening for the more than 9 million people who will visit this year!

Road openings: Clingman’s Dome Road- April 1st | Parson Branch, Rich Mountain Road, Little Greenbrier, and Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail- April 11th | Balsam Mountain Road- May 23rd

Picnic Area openings: Chimneys Picnic Area- March 15th | Collins Creek Picnic Area- April 4th | Big Creek and Cosby Picnic Areas- April 11th

Visitor Center openings: Cades Cove Visitor Center- March, 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.; April, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. | Sugarlands Visitor Center – March, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., April, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
