If you just so happen to be walking along the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg TN
between June 13 and August don’t be alarmed if you see some people in some weird costumes. During those dates the Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales will be held. Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales takes place in downtown Gatlinburg TN every day starting at 5pm and ending at 10pm. Performers, magicians and storytellers will travel into downtown Gatlinburg on a horse-drawn wagon and the fun will start there. These performers will be dressed to grab your attention and to tell you what they have to share. Stories from the 1800’s to present will be told as well as acted out. Make sure you’re in town to witness some of these tunes and tales during June 13- August 9. The stories will give you memories that you can take back home with you.
There are several acts that will be performed by the Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales performers and storytellers. Those of you who will be walking the streets will get to stop and listen and possibly even participate in the tales and acts. This is an educational and fun experience that anyone could enjoy. People you may see are the Back Porch Cloggers, Whittlin’ Joe, Miss Nan, Zeno the Gatlinburg Bear, Hammer and Strings, Animal Mac, and many more. You’ll get to see dances, demonstrations, performances, hear tales, participate in some acts and so much more.
The Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales lets the visitors get in touch and hear tales from “back in the day” of pre-tourism Gatlinburg Tennessee.
