Gatlinburg Craftsmen Fair

The Gatlinburg Craftsman Fair is back again for the 2008 season. This year it has some awards to be proud of including being voted one of the Top 20 Events by the Southeast Tourism Society and one of the 200 Best Events by the Sunshine Artists. Get prepared for this year’s art, crafts and music. They will be having a Summer Fair in July and another one in Fall during October. If you miss the July Fair be sure you make it to the October Fair.

The Summer Fair during July will be from July 18-27. The times will be from 10am- 7pm every day except Sunday when it ends at 5pm. Children 12 and under are always free and adult tickets are only $5.00. The music will be by Dennis Lee and Band from July 18-22 and by Keith Longbotham and Band on July 23-27. Times for the music shows will be 1:00, 3:00, 5:00 everyday except Sunday’s where there will not be a 5:00 show. The Gatlinburg Craftsman Fair will be a fun thing to go out and do one day because not only can you shop around for unique gifts such as pocketbooks, wood-workings, trinkets, etc. but you can also see the artists demonstrate their skills.

The Fall Fair in October is from the 9th-26th. Times and prices are the same as they were in July. Music will be performed again by Keith Longbotham and Band (from October 17th-21st) as well as Dennis Lee and Band (October 22nd-26th). There will be a new group performing at the Fall Fair by the name of Tim Watson and Black creek (October 9th-16th). Performances will be the same time as Summer Fair as well. There will be over 200 booths of arts, crafts, and music at this Fall Fair. Just like the Summer Fair this fair will feature artisans selling some of their work and demonstrating their skills for you to view.

If you just so happen to be in the area at the same time of the 33rd annual Gatlinburg Craftsman Fair then you should be sure to stop by and have a look around. It’s only $5 per persons older that 12 years and it gives you something very interesting to do. Who knows, you might even leave with a couple of souvenirs that are unique and handmade from Gatlinburg TN.
