Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre

When you step inside the Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee, you’ll be transported to a 19th century music hall. Unassuming from the busy Gatlinburg street outside, the inside of Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is decked out in rich red curtains, classic theatre-style seats, and the perfect show lighting. The intimate space provides just the right setting for hilarious Broadway and Vaudeville-style shows, which the changing cast has been putting on since 1977!

Since that time, more than 30 original musical comedies have had world premieres at the Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre. Many of these shows have gone on to be played in cities across the country, including elite show cities such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Offering a variety of hilarious and surprising shows throughout the year, Pat and Don MacPherson’s Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is the only musical comedy entertainment attraction in Gatlinburg. The theatre is also the oldest place to put on professional, live-on-stage, original music comedies! Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is so highly acclaimed and respected, it was deemed a National Historical Treasure by the city of Gatlinburg, along with being recognized by the 112th Tennessee State Senate. Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is a staple in the Gatlinburg community.

The Cast

The cast of characters at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is unique, to say the least. A former clown, a long-time performer, a lawn mower racing champion, an As-Seen-On-TV addict, child star, and former improve actor make up this crazy and talented cast. You can see their love for performing in each show, as they all laugh, play, and draw in audiences.

Each cast member adds something unique to the show, be it their wittiness, their improve ability, or their unique actions. The shows reflect those of the Old English Music Hall, American Vaudeville, Broadway musicals, and even Monty Python! The cast puts on 2 different shows each year, offering something different and fun for new or frequent visitors to Gatlinburg!

Malarkey: A Vaudeville Revue

A Vaudeville-style musical comedy perfect for the family, Malarkey is a combination of dry humor, high energy, and “overtones of nonsense and a hint of poppycock.” It features more than 30 songs, sketch comedy routines, a sing-a-long, audience participation skits, and the Dancing Trench Coats bit. In short, it’s tons of laughs and fun for all!

The Son of the Musketeers: An Original Musical Comedy

This 3-part show includes an original 1890s-style musical comedy, an old-fashioned sing-a-long, and Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre’s Olio & Revue with the World Famous Classical Paperdance. Set in France after the death of the last of the 3 Musketeers, The Son of the Musketeers takes the audience on an exciting ride with an unlikely hero.
