The Scenic
Chairlift in Gatlinburg TN offers one of the most
awe-inspiring views of the
Great Smoky Mountains. The relaxing ride on
the South's longest chairlift creates many spectacular
photo opportunities. On top, your photo is taken and
available to you at a small charge ($5.00 per person).
After renting one of our Gatlinburg cabins, make sure
you make plans for this fantastic activity.
The ride originates near the Customer Service office
where the ride attendant will instruct you how to get
safely seated. Just a short way up, you can see on your
left the slope up to Bear Run! A short way up on your
right will be your 'photo-shoot' location! You are about
half way there!
As you approach the top, a ride attendant will instruct
you when it is safe to raise the safety bar, and exit
the ride. Grab a snack at our snack bar, then sit down,
relax, and enjoy some of the most beautiful views of the
Great Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg TN! Enter a coin
into the 'high powered stationary binoculars" and see
points of interest not available to the naked eye! Note:
Restrooms are available.
When you are ready for your return trip, the ride
attendant will again show you how to get safely seated,
and then lower your safety bar. The ride down is
actually better than the ride up, as you can see out
far, and down towards the ski lodge (and Gatlinburg TN)
right in front of you!
We believe you and your family will agree that this ride
will be one of the highlights of your Smoky Mountains
Vacation. The 'air-time' is approximately 15 beautiful
minutes each way, along with however much time you and
your family spend at the top with absolutely breath
taking views.
