If you’re lucky enough to visit us in the Smokies during the spring, you are sure in for a treat! Everywhere you look, blossoming buds and the brightest of greens can be seen as Mother Nature awakes from her winter hibernation. The community strives to make everyone’s stay memorable, so when it comes to springtime and Easter festivities, there is no exception.

Gatlinburg Sunrise Service

If you’re looking to experience an Easter like you never have before, the Annual Sunrise Service will leave you speechless. For the past 15 years, Ober Gatlinburg has hosted the Annual Sunrise Service. This Service is so unique because it takes place outdoors and atop a mountain, allowing for the Smokies to be the perfect backdrop as streaks of red and orange are painted across the gradually brightening sky. Visitors staying in a cabin from Cabins For You are strongly encouraged to wake up early and check out this spectacle.

The service typically runs 30-40 minutes and is led by pastors from the Gatlinburg Ministerial Association. You might be thinking that if you’re getting up early enough to see the sunrise that you certainly don’t want to climb a mountain, but that’s not the case at all! Staff members at Ober Gatlinburg provide those going to worship with free tram rides up the mountain beginning at 5:45 a.m. and lasting until the service starts at 6:30 a.m. For those who aren’t interested in taking the tram, complementary parking will be provided, so visitors are more than welcome to drive to the top of the mountain as well.

After watching an incredible sunrise and attending an Easter service unlike any other, treat yourself to a scrumptious Easter breakfast served from 7:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. at the Ober Gatlinburg Restaurant. With such a breathtaking opportunity being so close to your cabin rental, you simply can’t go wrong by attending the Annual Sunrise Service in Gatlinburg, near Pigeon Forge.

Easter Craft Show

Don’t worry though, the memorable Easter experience continues beyond the sunrise at Ober Gatlinburg. After you’ve enjoyed your breakfast and worship service, head down to the Gatlinburg Convention Center to check out some unique handcrafted gifts. For a couple days every year at the end of March, the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Community’s Easter Arts and Crafts Show takes place right in Gatlinburg! Here, handcrafted products are placed on display by the members of the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community and can be viewed by the public for absolutely free! That’s right, for free admission, visitors can not only look at some beautifully crafted items, but also are also shown live demonstrations by the artists themselves, right there at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. These handcrafted pieces of art make for wonderful souvenirs, gifts, decor, and a little something to hold you over until your next visit to the beautiful Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area
