Cades Cove
When renting one of our
Gatlinburg cabin rentals
take a trip over to Cades Cove. You will be amazed at
the beautiful landscapes and abundant wildlife you will
see.
The Cherokee Indians were the first
to occupy Cades Cove. They used the land to grow crops
and hunt for food. The pioneers were the next group to
come to the land. They built farms and cultivated the
fertile land. Many years after the settlers, this area
was called The Smoky Mountains National Park. Cades Cove
now resembles what it looked like back in the 1800's. As
you travel through the park you will see homes, sheds,
churches, and other buildings built by the settlers. Not
only can you see past construction, but you can also see
the many different animals that live in the National
Park. You can spot bears, fox, bobcats, beavers, deer,
and even skunks! You can't feed or touch the animals,
but they're magnificent to look at. Cades Cove and the
Smoky Mountain National Park are not just about looking
around. There are many other things that you can do in
the park. Activities such as biking, fishing, horse back
riding, and you can also camp in the park. The Smoky
Mountain National Park also offers a place to tie the
knot for you and that special someone and the kids can
be taught about the beautiful area by the Rangers in the
Junior Ranger program. During each season the Smoky
Mountain National Park has something wonderful to offer.
