6 Places to Eat in Gatlinburg

When I go on vacation, I like to do some research on the location I’ll be visiting. I don’t have to have a set schedule, but I like to know what there is to do, so that I can fit in as much as possible during my stay. Being the food lover that I am, where I should eat is naturally number one on my list. Generally, I have a couple of restaurants I would like to try, but Gatlinburg is so chock-full of great places to eat, I have been forced (okay, so you don’t really have to twist my arm) to spread my list of places to try over a number of trips to the area. I also happen to love a wide variety of foods, and Gatlinburg does not disappoint. Below are a few restaurants (some I have tried and some that are favorites of locals and visitors) for you to try on your next visit.

Pancake Pantry – This is my favorite place for breakfast any time of the day. This yummy spot serves up dozens of flavors of pancakes and crepes, as well as bacon, eggs, ham, hash browns, and plates with a little bit of it all.

Hard Rock Café – I always stop at the Hard Rock Café in each city I visit, if not for anything else but to get an awesome t-shirt. Of course, they offer an awesome atmosphere and a tasty menu with burgers, sandwiches, smokehouse specialties and more.

Legends by Max – This restaurant offers all your Italian favorites like lasagna, ravioli, hero sandwiches, spaghetti, pizza and chicken parmesan. Best of all, kids eat free.

Smoky Mountain Trout House – For the freshest trout in town, visit the Smoky Mountain Trout House, which has been serving local catches since 1975. If you’re not in the mood for fish, they also have steak and chicken. Before you leave, don’t forget to try one of their homemade desserts. (865-436-5416)

The Peddler Steakhouse– If you’re licking your chops for a juicy cut of meat, this is the place to go. With a gorgeous view of a mountain stream, and steaks cut tableside, The Peddler offers some of the best atmosphere in town. Also on the menu:  marinated chicken, grilled tuna, prime rib, fresh trout and a huge salad bar.

Geno’s Pizza – This is a local favorite. The dough is made fresh daily, and you can dine in, carry out, or get fast delivery. Pizza, sandwiches and wings are also available.
