Gatlinburg Beans & Cornbread Blast

The South is known and loved for many things—its hospitality, its charming accents, and especially its down-home, done-right food! Nowhere else in the country can you order a tall glass of sweet tea and a plate piled high with beans and cornbread, a favorite Southern treat. This year, we invite you to celebrate this dynamic duo for the second year in a row at the Gatlinburg Beans ‘n Cornbread Festival!

When

The 2nd-annual Gatlinburg Beans ‘n Cornbread Festival is scheduled to take place May 14, 2015. The weather should be warm, so break out those shorts and short-sleeved shirts. Enjoy a beautiful day in the sunshine, but don’t forget your sunscreen and, of course, your appetite!

Where

The festival will take place in downtown Gatlinburg. If you have questions about the venue, feel free to call 1-800-588-1817.

What

Presented by Bush Brothers and Company, the Gatlinburg Beans ‘n Cornbread Festival does exactly what it sounds like: celebrates the favorite Southern treat of good-ole, home-cooked beans and hot, fresh-out-of-the-iron-skillet cornbread. For those who have never tried this delicious pairing, this festival is the perfect place to make your acquaintance! You’ll get to sample some of the best beans and cornbread in the South. And for those who know this pairing well, you’ll get to enjoy a variety of departures from the traditional recipes you know and love—maybe even find a new favorite recipe you’ll want to take home!

At the Gatlinburg Beans ‘n Cornbread Festival, visitors can enjoy a beans and cornbread cook-off, foot-stompin’ Smoky Mountain music, and games for the whole family, including a Corn Hole Tournament that raises funds for the local Humane Society. So come hungry, and plan to stay a while! This year’s festival is going to be chock-full of fun!

Admission to the festival is $15 per person. With your ticket, you are able to sample a variety of beans and cornbread presented at the festival.
