Bootleggers Wine

A unique winery in the Smokies
The difference in their product and other wineries is that their wine is made with all natural ingredients. Located in Sevier County, two sisters started this business themselves! The two creators use real fruit to make their signature wine flavors and the recipes that they follow have been passed down for years. To begin creating this wine, the sisters only use what can be found in any typical Southern kitchen. Although this homemade wine may not be fancy, it does offer a true taste of the Smokies.

There are many different types of Bootleggers Homemade Wine to choose from. These flavors include muscadine blush, scuppernong, blackberry wine, strawberry wine, peach wine, redneck reserve dessert wine, Bootleggers white table wine, and Bootleggers red table wine.

You must be 21 or over to purchase or taste these wines. There are free tastings available, but they can sometimes book up, so plan accordingly.

Bootleggers is located on the Parkway in Gatlinburg, right next to the moonshine distillery. You can give them a call at 865-221-1589 or email them at [email protected]. This winery is open for customers Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On the weekends and holidays, bootleggers is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The two sisters that started this business have suggested a list of different foods that would go best paired with their wine. For the rose- colored homemade muscadine, you should pair salads, seafood, or poultry. The homemade scuppernong is a white wine that goes well with spicy food and entrees. The homemade blackberry wine is a red wine that would go deliciously with a plate of pulled pork, and this wine is said to offer a refreshing aftertaste. The homemade strawberry wine is made with fresh strawberry juice and is great paired with any strawberry flavored dessert. The homemade peach wine is a light pink wine that is usually paired with a strawberry or peach flavored breaded dessert. With a smooth, sweet, and satisfying finish, Redneck Reserve dessert wine is appetizingly paired with dark chocolate cake or roasted nuts. Bootlegger’s white table wine would be a great option to drink with a seafood dish, pork, or sharp cheese.
