One of the great things about Gatlinburg (aside, of course, from the beautiful Smoky Mountains) is the shopping! Particularly this close to Christmas, Gatlinburg is one of the best places to go to find some great gifts. With shops for teens, children, and adults, there is a little bit of something for everyone. There are shops completely dedicated to Christmas, wood-carved signs, local art, hiking, sterling silver, and hand-poured candles. Many local shops have that warm, mountain feel, but if you’re looking for a more upscale shopping experience, there are plenty of boutiques and malls to meet your needs. Check out a few of these stores on your next trip to the Great Smoky Mountains.
Santa’s Claus-et – For all things Christmas, all year long, stop by Santa’s Claus-et in Gatlinburg. This charming country store is packed full of gifts, gourmet foods (including jams and jellies, salsa, pasta, and coffee), Christmas ornaments and décor, and lots of mountain music. Visit www.santasclaus-et.com for directions, an online store tour, and a Christmas countdown.
The Village Shops – This collection of 27 unique shops and eateries is nestled right in the heart of Gatlinburg. As you stroll through this perfectly charming European village experience, you can savor some fudge, pick up some booties at Smoky Mountain Babies (Gatlinburg’s only baby store), or browse the Thomas Kinkade gallery. It is also located right next to the Pancake Pantry (my favorite place to eat in Gatlinburg!), so you can stuff yourself with a tall stack of pancakes after a long day of shopping. Visit www.thevillageshops.com for more information.
Tanger Outlets (Sevierville) – For incredible deals on all of your favorite brands, the Tanger Outlets are the best place to visit around Gatlinburg, TN. Coach Factory, Calvin Klein, Nike, Timberland, The Children’s Place and Bose are just a few of over 100 outlet shops available here. Check out www.tangeroutlet.com/sevierville to find store hours, shopping tips, and great offers and coupons.
Mountain Mall – On a rainy day, the Gatlinburg Mountain Mall is the perfect place to while away the hours. This indoor shopping mall has a number of stores, all with different and unique themes. There are dolls, quilts, wood carvings, homemade candy, jewelry, pipes, hot sauce, toys, and sports collectibles. The entire mall is completely outfitted with cedar walls, Jack Daniels whiskey barrel trash cans and authentic millstones. You will get the mountain experience here!
