Smoky Mountain Outdoors rafting trips are for all families
of all ages and sizes. Smoky Mountain rafting uses 8 person
Self-Bailing Riken Rafts. These are 6 chamber boats with
inflated floors so that no bailing is required. Falling out
is rare due to the design of the rafts. Each boat consists
of 1 guide and 6 or 7 passengers. The rapids in the U.S. are
based on a scale from 1 - 6. One being the easiest and six
being the roughest.
There are two different sections on the Pigeon Forge River.
On the lower level there is no experience needed. It is a
five and a half mile trip with 50 rapids all class 1 and 2.
There is one class three rapid along the way. The upper
section on the river is a six and a half mile trip with
roughly 70 rapids ranging anywhere from a class 1 to class
4. Why you might consider choosing rafting with Smoky
